What is SCRAM?

Screen Capture Review and Management (SCRAM)

SCRAM, created by **DRC**SSgtSpike a member of the Das Rebellion Clan (DRC), is a tool used to make the process of reviewing screen shots created by PunkPuster (PB) a little easier. This tool is meant to be used by the PB admins for gaming sites and the select people that they have helping them review screen shots. It does require a working knowledge of how PB works and how it is installed on a server if you will be setting up connections from scratch. It is possible that an admin could create a scramprofile.ini file for a less knowledgeable user so they could just use the tool and not even know the password.

This project is hosted at DAS Rebellion.  Go there for discussion boards to post questions and get answers about SCRAM.  We use SCRAM to manage and review Enemy Territory screen shots that are created by Punk Buster.

Using SCRAM you can do the following:

  • Create and store profiles for each of the server that you review screen
    shots on.
  • Easily upload suspect screen shots to a pre-defined folder on the server for
    review by your PB admin.
  • Review the cheat.log and violation.log files from the server (if available)
in an easy to read GUI with pre-defined keywords (hacks/cheats) highlighted.
  • Keep a status file on the server that each of the users can update via the
local GUI as a means of communication between reviewers.
  • Use an internal viewer (embedded IE) or select to use an external viewer if
    you prefer.
  • View the embedded PB information in each screen shot so you can copy and
    paste it.
  • Search all local (downloaded) screen shots for player name (name in the
image file that PB recorded) so you check on certain players.
  • Download suspect screen shots that have been uploaded by other reviewers for
    closer examination.
